Lord of Flames- an awesome song made by my six year old brother. He "sang" the lyrics, and immediately, all other parts of the song came into my head.
Unfortunately, I lack musical skillz. Except for singing. I can sing. ironically, quite a few popular rock bands whose singing voice is completely oppisite of what my voice teacher tells me is a good singing voice. :P
Anyway, it's awesome. it goes like this-
"Lord. Of. Flames. Whatch out for those thangs. Watch out for those thaaangs."
"Lord of Flames, they're gonna getchoo."
"LORD."
*guitar riffs*
"OF."
*guitar riffs*
"FLAAAAAAAaaaaaammmmMMMMMESSSSS!!!"
*face smashing, rockin' guitar solo*
Anyway, that's all I got. Now all I need are some extremely odd, controversial lyrics to make people think I've stuck a hidden message in it, and I'll be rich!
-
I be listnin to HALO MUSICS! They make me unvincible in the RP's!

Hunting for Witches- Bloc Party

I recently learned I liked Indie rock (Possibly because it's experimental style reminds me of Jazz's), and ended up buying a CAKE album (A Scented one. I did not find this out till I got home, but now am mildly entertained by the idea that someone, somewhere suggested they should do this.) I'm now listening to songs off of The Apples in Stereo's MySpace.
If anyone else can suggest some good Indie bands they know of, I'd appreciate it.
-
Arcade Fire and Andrew Bird are my personal indie champions.
Also quite good is Interpol.
-
Bill McCai - The Coral
I like this song's apathetic style.

Didn't you say you had only completed the game on Medium?
-
Halo 3 Soundtrack - One Final Effort
(if my memory serves me correct it's the song that plays while you battle it out with the two scarabs before you enter the citadel in the level, 'The Covenant' and while you proceed to the Forward unto Dawn in the last level, 'Halo' (it also plays during the 'beginning' of the final cutscene (well, second last if you include after the credits)
-
Uh, spoiler tags please? Some of us haven't got around to finishing the game yet.

I really hate it the fashion for rappers take riffs from songs that I really like to make crappy rap songs out of.
Right now I've got Misirlou on, to get the taste of vomit out of my mouth after hearing the riff abused by the Black Eyed Peas. Bastards.
Hell, it's the same with Daft Punk and that git Kanye West. And Supertramp being maligned by Gym Class Heroes in collaboration with Fall Out Boy. Is nothing sacred?
Still, Dick Dale is pretty awesome.

-
Whoa, Daxx, man. You gave some of the best taste in music ever. I could listen to ths all night,
Harder, better, faster, stronger...
-
Yeah, I think everyone in the world has had a "Daft Punk Phase". Like, basically listening to Discovery and Homework non-stop for a month; these Alive mixes are just incredible for someone who's been through that.
-
Please don't anybody tell me you're listening to that monstrosity that that Kanye West dude has made of Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. It's like the Frankenstein of music, take something good and make it horrible!... Then again wasn't Frankenstein actually nice or something?
-
Actually, that's the exact opposite of what we're doing.
-
I don't play Guitar Hero, but I strongly desire to see "Aerodynamic" on it.
My favorite to listen to is "Da Funk," though. Both Daft Punk songs, for those wondering what I'm talking about.

Closer- Lacuna Coil.
Their singer is amazing. The woman, anyway. I forget her name...anyway, I watched some of their concerts on youtube..I think she's a bit overconfident about her voice, although she has some crazy talent.. A couple vocal lessons definitely wouldn't hurt her.

With the exception of Facebook, you are mostly correct. However, Myspace is such a ubiquitous venue for independent bands you'd be crazy not to be on it.

Dude, nobody under 12 would look at that and think it's something sexual. Also, it's fine as PG-13 because it isn't actually sex or visible genitalia. It's just hinted at.

I like songs about H, it's a terrible substance and ruins lives and would never touch it,

I posted it online a few places looking for feedback, but got very litte, and I know i just posted this in the music you make thread, but it's also what I'm listening to so it should be allowed to be listed here as well

I love that music video. What a touching, beautiful story. What, it's purely psychedelic? No, it's colorful blend of 50's era sci-fi and 60's era spiritualism and pacifism. It's a tale of rising up against The Man and spreading life and peace, expressed through a creative and colorful medium that children can understand.
Does it have psychedelic overtones? Well, of course! That's what you get when you picture music in your mind, unless you're a boring person with no inspiration or creativity. It's imaginative and pure, perfectly illustrating the music.
I picture sound in my head like that: with lots of color, and telling a story. Don't you?

I suggest that as soon as you get the chance...DO IT! I may have also lucked out in that it was a super-small venue and I was a few feet away from the stage the entire time. The amount of energy they had was unbelievable. I was exhausted by the end of it. Like I said, amazing.

tame impala, one of my favourite bands, has just released a new album and its so good. one of the first times a band i like has hugely changed their style between albums and it seems like a positive change.
the album's called "currents" and it's full of very laid back psychedelic electronic music. here are some of my favourite songs on it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ed6UeDp1ek
i love the way they use loops in this song to create the melody. i know it's long but give it a try. :P
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLg-Kqa9vEo
probably the most "pop"y song on the album
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkHSUp-N36Y
this one is a lot of my friends' favourites
i tried to find more but they've all been taken off youtube. :(
anyway yeah, seeing these guys live in september. gonna be good.

First time I've looked up this band after hearing them on the radio for a while. I did not expect the singer to be a white guy.

I'm not sure which electronic genre this is. I kinda like it, though.

Mostly because you'd expect Kristen Schaal's voice.

Who wants to hear some strings and vocal harmonizing?
Literally everyone does.
What I don't like is that slightly petuland indie-style tenor so many bands of this type sing in these days. It's seriously awful and I want to know who is to blame? MGMT probably made it popular...
-
I can't speak for other bands but Chris Thile would get it from his roots in bluegrass/that's just where his vocal register is. Here's what he sounded like 16 years ago.

Is it the same as the Neutral Milk Hotel singer? He kind of reminds me of that PA mosque-chanting stuff.
-
I was thrown off by Neutral milk Hotel before realizing I knew the name because I had a course in Young Adult Fiction and was made to read multiple John Green novels, including Will Grayson, Will Grayson.
I didn't know they actually existed. I thought it was supposed to be a fictional band.
-
Lots of seemingly fictional bands are real.
The band Graystar from Jimmy Neutron exists, and the lead singer went to my high school.

I've been listening to this a lot lately, and some of the other tracks from this game. It's honestly just kind of above-average SNES music. It's not Donkey Kong Country or anything, but some of the tracks are pretty good. I get a nostalgic kick out of it since I played the game when I was like twelve.

I like this song, I think it's beautiful. I understand a bit of German, so that makes it better.
"Wir seh'n uns wieder, gewiss irgendwann
in meinen Träumen sind wir zusamm'"
Translation
"We will see each other again, certainly sometime
in my dreams we are together"
It speaks to me because I often dream of broken relationships, and in those dreams we are friends again. Those kinda dreams make my day... even if I know they're not real. But I like to imagine it's a message of some sort - that they had a similar dream about me. And maybe one day we can forgive each other and be friends again. It's a nice thought. Gotta have some of those.
"In meinen Träumen
Sind wir zusammen"
-
Oh no! Did your video get DMCA'd right after you posted it?
Or maybe it is banned in the Hamburger Kingdom?
Listening to lots of chillwave wonk lately. But let's go with something a little different that I like. I used to listen to Street Cleaner when I drove a street sweeper. **** is great. Lots of the songs are good but the only good complete album is Revenger. Also those movie references. Red Foreman is angry.

No, it still works for me. Too bad, I guess Hamburgerland just cannot afford good taste.
But the song is Wir sehn uns wieder by Oonagh. I like a lot of songs by her.
