Beets?  In pickled eggs?  A wild notion.

Personally, I just load the eggs up into the leftover brine after finishing up a pickle jar, and leave it sitting in my fridge until I forget about it.

Can't say I've every played Factorio, though I've heard good things.  Satisfactory is a good game though.

Naturally!  I have very fond memories as a kid watching my dad play through Myst and take meticulous notes and maps.  I'm pretty sure he still has that notebook from Myst and other puzzle games on his desk.

Oh neat!  I've never really gotten around to sinking my teeth into Myst.  Gotta give it another go.

Everything Else / Re: What's a good mid-range Android phone?

I picked up a Pixel 3A last summer and it's been a fantastic phone.  I was mentioning the other day in another thread, but basically Google took their mainline Pixel 3 and stripped it down a bit to make a cheaper version, but kept the great camera.  It's been a solid phone and probably one of the best I've had.  Being Google, it comes with just baseline Android, so it doesn't have all the bloatware phones like my previous Samsungs had.

Well, certainly glad they're giving the game more time for polish, and hopefully won't have to crunch as hard as a result.

That said, dang.  Been really looking forward to this one and want to get my hands on it.  Ah well, it's done when it's done.

Saw a picture of a similar piece online and wanted to try to figure out how to recreate it.  Basically, it's two lengths of leather cord knotted together with a button at one end.  Then, the beads are woven between the length of the two cords, before the ends are tied off in loops the button can fasten to.

As for my camera, it's just my phone.  I've got a Pixel 3A.  What's great is the Pixel 3, Google's mainline of that generation of phone, had one of the best cameras on the market.  When they made the 3a, a much cheaper model, they still used the same camera since they had them already.  The result is a phone with the camera of a $1000 phone, for a third of the price.

This looks like fun, but I still have a copy of the 1995 Myst prequel, Book of Atrus, on my reading list first.
I picked it up at a used bookstore for a dollar a while back.
No idea if Myst-based literature will be any good, but I want to see more people put their hands on book portals and go all wobbly into wherever.

Ooh, I read that one and its sequel a few years back.  Really cool books.

Cool stuff Pat!  I've been meaning to do more hands on projects, but always been too busy as of late.  That, and my place downtown doesn't leave me with much space to work.

In lieu of that, I've been working on a 3D model of my apartment.  Been gradually measuring every single surface down to the mm and recreating it in blender before pulling it into Unity.  Don't have a ton of pictures handy, but I've got these two:

For anyone looking for it, you can find the livestream of the launch here on NASA's youtube.

Did some poking around.  Think I found a version of GD's song that works.

As for what I've been listening to, I've fallen down a big electronic and vocaloid hole over the past few years.
