It's endearing.

Sort of like this game. Unsure if you're into JRPGs or not. But man oh man is it a good one. It solved a lot of the issues people had with random encounters and brought a solid and compelling storyline to the fore. Lots of details and setups and payoffs that allowed for multiple endings and lots of neat moments between characters. And I mean the soundtrack and visuals are exceptional. There's a lot going on with the soundtrack in particular, with themes and motifs that are shared between certain tracks that are associated with specific regions, families and events. It is one of those games that is well worth your time if you are into the genre or curious about it. The game is a little tricky to find nowadays and the cellphone remakes are somehow not so great despite the game being over 25 years old.

The DS version is solid and has some extra content to tie things into the sequel (Chrono Cross) but that is more expensive than the PS1 anniversary edition. And I mean, if you can find and afford a copy on the SNES, do that because that's the best way to play. But that's a tall order for a single game. Oh and the development team! It's the veritable dream team: you had the creator of Final Fantasy, the creator of Dragon Quest, the composer for the Final Fantasy series and you also have the creator of Dragon Ball doing the art. It's pretty amazing.

Grab a ROM if you can't find it elsewhere. Very worthwhile.

Pat, filling the forum with racist bilge to be edgy isn't some bold stance against "political correctness" or "people offended by words."
It's god-awful and mean to people who've done nothing to you.

It's also a guarantee Steve will nuke this place the next time he so much as glances at it...
which may well be your goal.

Or to get somebody upset in this exact way,
so they respond to your posts,
because you feel like they're not paying enough attention to you.

I honestly can't tell anymore.

You don't have to act like this.
What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

I guess sgore doesn't find it endearing.

There are lots of people out there that think I'm a piece of ****. I don't say any racist stuff, but still. It doesn't really matter. People can hate you for any reason they want, good or bad.

So please, do join me in the pile of dung.

Ew. Discord is gayer than my erotic fever dreams and has 100% more pedophilia. I'll stick to my blog.

There was a sequel to Chrono Triggger called Chrono Cross. It was recieved reasonably well, but there were some issues. Namely the game's scope and ambition went just a little bit too far out there. It was a neat premise but not entirely well thought out. The combat was good, but it was a lot like XCOM in that your 99% hit chance seemed to miss a little too often. The game had a lot of playable characters though, which is very welcome in the genre. It allowed for a lot of side quests and numerous branching paths. A completionist would have a hard time with this game. It did have some good, memorable moments and I can recommend it to any JRPG fan. The soundtrack is also pretty good! But that is to be expected.

Sadly the third game Chrono Break was never completed and is as of now unreleased. Maybe someday. Though with how pretentious games have become, maybe it is better that it stays unmade. Though the Japanese seem to not really care, so maybe there is hope yet.

I was thinking of starting a new game in CT. My existing file has been ongoing since the late 90s and I realized that I haven't played a fresh run of the game on the SNES in decades. I did replay it on the DS about ten tears ago, but that's not quite the same. So I've backed up my original save data onto my computer and am going to run it fresh.

It is also a good opportunity to change the battery in the cartridge.

Update on this! I replayed it twice since the last post. It really is a perfect game.

I've heard rumors (from the nvidia leak) that Square may be remastering Chrono Cross. Which would be kind of interesting. Maybe. I'm not sold on that though; most of these games still look and play great and don't need to be tinkered with outside of a resolution adjustment. If they only upped the resolution it would probably be just fine.

Oh man... they're remastering and "expanding" Chrono Cross. Here we go!

Hopefully it ends up alright and they don't add any nasty tranny **** to it.
