I like the scaling system, but it's hardly cutting edge. It'd be quite simple to have an option so that details can be scaled with the mouth, allowing the important parts to look right at all ages...

i agree... bone parts shoud never move like that... i had a lot of trouble doing my Scaradillo because of that... thankfully the Bonekneepads are more rigid than the Shellshards, but anyways...

one thing that profoundly annoys me is that the Stalkgazer eyes also tend to sling away from center when the creatures walk... i mean... it's funny and all, but hardly practical for a creature to see where it's going if it's eyes are constantly wobbling back everytime it takes a step forward

this is one of those things that should be on top of the 'things to fix before release' list

Well let us not forget, the game isn't complete.

Yeah they got most of the stuff down but in this late stage of development Spore's going through the "debugging phase". In time they'll work everything out , at least what needs to be worked out anyway.

Yeah...clipping issues with legs are fine. But detail parts...not so much. Legs can be moved, detail parts always squirm about.

It is annoying. One thing i've started doing with eyestalks is to make them myself; a short limb, then a mouth turned backwards, then the eye. Because of the glitchedness of the mouths-on-limbs thing, the eyes allways look before the 'head' does. Works quite well =]

Of course, it messes up the stats, and there's allways the possibility that the creature will end up carrying tools with it's eyes, or shoving them into a nice juicey ball o' colour...

I thought you all might like to know, the issue of some parts being too floppy has been on the radar for a while, and as it happens we've done a little pass to improve the feel, which you should be able to see when the game is released.  Thanks for the constructive comments, I hope you'll enjoy the game, and keep the 'breakprocanim' tags coming!

Just a little request here, could we see what the wing flapping animation looks like when the wing is attached to a limb? We already saw that it flaps like one would expect when it's just attached to the back, but there are a whole bunch of creatures out there with the wing attached to a limb.

Although with Spore close to release, that's not likely. doesn't hurt to ask though

Thanks for the feedback, JD!  It's always appreciated when we, the anxious, dedicated and often rabid fans get even a small update like this.  It's good to know the floppy fins issue is receiving attention.
