Can't get something to work in a GA Adventure
« on: December 20, 2009, 12:06:56 pm »
I hope this is the right area to place this:

I want to do a simple thing in a GA adventure: A bunch of Thing As attack and try to destroy Thing B.

The problem? Even if I set Thing A to Allied To Me and Thing B to Enemy Team, they never attack.

How do I say "your job is to attack Thing Bs"?

You need to set them to aggressive or territorial to make them want to attack eachother. Putting them on opposite teams won't do anything if they're just set to neutral.

also, you might want to set advanced behavior so they follow and attack the target

Ctrl+Click any of the preset behaviors to open up advanced behaviors. Add Attack Team [color] at First Sight and adjust their awareness [green ring] so that they see the enemy.

Add additional behaviors such as Follow [subject], in this case, the enemy or vise versa. And the enemy, Attack [player] at Always. And Attack [any] When Attacked. You can also have them act out emotions when idle.

If you want behaviors to end or change between acts, close the advanced behavior window before switching between acts since the window doesn't update automatically according to the currently selected act.

Experiment with them and see what works.
