I bought Spore Hero for the Wii. So far I'm enjoying it. The landscape is wonderful.

There are also some cool thing I've noticed in the creature editor paint textures. I hope they add those in the PC game, and maybe give us a goo/transparent texture for our creatures.

I also ran into a creature that was named Patman. ;D

Really I never listen to the reviews until after I play the actual game. Expect when they say its like super horrible or something. >__>

You'll never know why.

Good to hear it being great, Gec! ;D

Though, can you care to elaborate on these "cool things" in the paint editor? :)

Obviously the forum is biased toward anything Spore pretty much.

Then again, a lot of game reviewers are jaded about almost any game they play.
Not as much as you'd think. The original release of Spore took a huge hit. So much complaining. It's died down and the complainers went away and all that's left is a group of young people. Kind of like here.  :-\

One big disadvantage that you'll notice is the creature editor in both games.

You cannot edit the torso. You are given a good selection of pre-made bodies though. The knobs that usually come with every part are also removed. You're pretty much limited to scaling the size of parts and that's it. And advanced rotation of parts is limited to 2 axis than the 3 given in the PC version. And it's a little difficult getting the accuracy of a mouse when placing parts. It's hard keeping my hands still. The paint editor is also limited to choosing a pre-colored skin. I know the DS version lets you chose at least one color. But the Wii version had some stylish metallic looking textures which looked cool.

But you have to remember though, the game isn't intended to emulate the complexity of the PC game since this is mainly a story-driven action/adventure game. So making your creature look pretty won't be needed since nothing you create will be pollinated like the level of the PC game does.

But the story in both games were very well done. Maxis isn't the type of company to make a story as deep as some companies, but the effort Maxis made was very good for what they were capable of. So I enjoyed it. Think of it as the best GA Adventure that Maxis ever made.

i got the game a few days ago, and i'm kinda liking it. basically the creation tools aren't as good, but the gameplay is better than the pc version, so it kinda evens out.

there have been a few stats added to the creatures, like regeneration, kick and swim, so theres more to think about when randomly slapping parts on your creature :b

overall, it ain't half bad.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that part. Depending on what parts you have will determine how well your creature does in combat and exploration.

It's a pretty swell then, I guess. :)

Sad to hear the CC isn't that complicated. Though, yeah it does make sense. :)
