what are they doing in these 4 months until release?

It should be more like 6-7 months.

I was thinking more along the lines of 7-11 months.

Is there any possibility of them finishing early? Maybe a slightly early release?

oh and do you think that they will make enough to keep from having shortages? (im still trying to find a store that carries an xbox 360)

Like on opening day i want to be able to go to the store and buy a copy.

11 months would make it 2007, anyway I think its more like 6 months, as for what they are doing now, well besides preparing for GDC and E3, working on bugs, fixing up content, finalizing stuff and all that.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. :P

IMHO there's a decent possibility of it not being ready in time to be released in 2006 (unless EA decides to rush it out the door in time for christmas even if it isn't quite ready).

And does anyone know when EA's fiscal year ends? My point is that January 2007 might be part of the winter 2006 quarter for them (fiscally). What? Hey, stop looking at me like that.

How do you know? Do you have inside knowledge?
Until they release more information there really isn't much point arguing this

4 months until release?  Not much info / prerelease hype yet?  I smell a delay.

You call these forums lack of info and prerelease hype?  I doubt it, and I thought it was 7 months, releasing in october, what did I miss?

In order to shake my reputation for dragging threads of topic, I shall try to bring this one BACK on topic, the people at spore are probably working very hard to ensure this game is nearly perfect, because there is no actual content to make all there effort is concentrated upon the 'core engine' of the game and the editors, We really shouldn't speculate about the shipping date or potential delays until more information is released

It not exactly rare for games to miss estimated release dates.

Anyways, I'm not saying "THERE'S NO WAY IT'LL BE OUT IN 2006!" I'm just saying estimated release dates are just estimates.

And personally, I'd rather be pleasantly surprised if it shows up in September, as opposed to annoyed if it isn't out until 5+ months later.
