The Island
« on: July 24, 2005, 04:26:43 pm »
Just got back from this. I really liked it. Funny thing about this movie is that anybody could have played the parts in it. The story is told through the camera, not the actors. You could have had Ernest Borgnine and Rosann Barr play the leads (Although I doubt it would have done as well) and still had a good movie.

I believe it's about famous people having clones that live on an island and the clone people find out what they are.

It's about clones who live underground and think they are regular humans, but they are spare body parts for the original people living up top. Two of them get out and try to figure out whats going on. Sounds really cool.

I saw it and liked it, but I would have liked to believe in the contamination and the lottery until I figured out what was going on along with the characters. That kind of spoiled it.

I saw this movie recently and really liked it. I like the part where Mac says "Well excuse me, Little Miss I Can't Wait To Get To The Island!"

/spoiler -

the cool thing I liked about this is at the start it makes you think that the underground world they live in, is how the world really is, but then you find out the truth.

great sci-fi flick

Their entire advertising campaign circled around telling everyone what the big secret is, so everyone knew what happened 2 weeks before it even came out. Lame as hell, I know, but I still saw it.

To the other peoples:
Thanks for ruining it for the rest of the people who haven't seen it, the secret about them being clones is like half the movie, but if you tell them that fromt he start it brings alot the the good out.

Personally I didn't really like it.

It was fairly enjoyable, given that it was kind of derivative of "Logan's Run". Even so, decent special effects + Scarlett Johanssen in form-fitting outfits = teh win!
