February 21, 2008GDC08: Spore Creature Editor DemostrationA demonstration of the creature editor that I recorded from the Spore talk, "Procedural Music in Spore" from the Game Developers Conference 2008. Comments
Hey! Late night posting! Gotta love it! Posted by PatMan33 at February 21, 2008 4:19 AMThat is sooo cool what they are doing with the music. Did you feel like the music really responded to what was happening on the screen, or did you feel there was some tuning necessary to the music generating code? Personally I felt like putting dangerous antlers on the creature could have made the music even more "dark" with different drums and such... This plinky sound they have is kind of for the cute creatures in my mind. Thoughts? Posted by Vidde at February 21, 2008 6:37 AMI agree with you Vidde. That's how I would think the music would respond in the game. Posted by Mairead Engblade at February 25, 2008 3:38 PM"That is sooo cool what they are doing with the music. Al) to your creature shifted the tone of the music from major to minor. It was pretty subtly done, but it's definitely in place! :) Posted by Luca at February 25, 2008 5:42 PMPost a comment
