Gaming Steve Episode 64 - 12.04.2007

Eye Of Flame BeholderSince I've been gone for a little while I decided to make this show a bit special. Not only do I have a great guest but I have my biggest contest yet where you can win a free next-gen game console! That's right, a brand new console, as well as other great prizes, and all you have to do is listen to the show!

And in celebration of National Dice Day I have a great interview with Christopher Perkins from Wizards of the Coast. Chris and I geek out and talk about Dungeon & Dragons new 4th Edition and it's upcoming transition into the online world. Enjoy the show!

Whoa! This made my day. Your insight into everything is always much appreciated!

By the way, are the winners determined by the luck of the draw, or do you judge the motivations for why the game was picked?

"A little while"? Your last episode was nine months ago, dude! The entirety of the classic film "Junior" could have occurred in the time since then.

Great, great interview. I can't wait for the online tabletop D&D.

Posted by Lany at December 5, 2007 2:57 AM

First I thought the date was wrong (in Norway we use day/month), and I figured that was the thing here, but wow, a new episode, amazing!

I was so surprised at this that I actually woke my girlfriend up to tell her. She obviously had no idea what I was talking about, but I had to tell someone! :p

Posted by Kenneth Sundby at December 5, 2007 7:01 AM

Nice to have you back. It's been way too long ;)

Posted by Olly at December 5, 2007 12:44 PM

Steve, I loved the interview on D&D 4.0. I'm forwarding the show-link to all my tabletop gaming friends.

Posted by Robb at December 6, 2007 8:21 AM

I crud. I stop checking Gaming Steve for 3 days, and then this happens.

Hope this will be the start of regular podcasts.

Posted by DoggySpew at December 6, 2007 12:58 PM

A great show as always. Still the best podcast around in my opinion.

I don't think Jeff was fired over Kane and Lynch, it was was negative yeah, but it was honest, and after listening to the Hotspot, they have pretty much convinced me that it was coincidental that he was fired after the review. Besides, look at most of the other reviews on other sites, they're really not that great either. 67/100 on metacritic, and mc users gave it a 1.9 out of 10!

The Witcher is not based only on a short story. It's based on a series of two short story collections and 5 novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. The first book ("The Last Wish") has recently been released in the UK and will soon be released in the US. You can read more at:

Hey Gaming Steve. I just found your blog by...some convoluted path or other. But I really enjoyed this episode and am about to start listening to number 65. I'm more interested in tabletop gaming, but you keep having these interviews with WotC staff and I can't resist! Anyway, just wanted to show some appreciation.

Hey, my Wii's fan started to fail too. Moved it to an open space before it blew.
