The Inhuman Achievement

I always find it amazing that no matter how hard developer makes a video game that someone, somewhere will manage to accomplish the impossible. Whether its finishing Blast Corps or finishing the last level of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! with a perfect score I am always continuously amazed at the level of human accomplishment when it comes to video games.

The latest inhuman achievement to appear in a video game is finishing the attempting to play “Through the Fire and Flames” by Dragonforce, which is unlocked once you complete Guitar Hero 3. It’s no shocker that this is the hardest song ever put in a Guitar Hero game but after seeing this song in action one has to wonder ... what were they thinking? I've seen impossible video game tasks before but this just seems, I don't know, beyond impossible. The song is over eight minutes long and you have to play so fast that your guitar sounds like its producing a steady stream of machine gun fire. But yet someone has managed to finish this song on Expert level.

Again, humans always continue to amaze me:

Hey! Another update! Cool beans! By the way, that song... not an easy thing; it made my hand cramp up a few times and I still failed.

:(

Making 1 person play that is INSANE! The band has 2 guitarists, so you're playing BOTH sides of a guitar duet!

My favorite is the video on YouTube where it took 6 guys playing together on one guitar to beat it.

It has been 8 months since a podcast.
Man how I miss the days of weekly 2 hour podcasts from Steve.

I am guessing those days are gone for good.
It is rather odd he went off the air at about the exact same time he struck a deal with x-fire?

Any way, I am hoping and desperately looking forward to a holiday podcast.

game on! Steve

The most impressive video game performance I've seen is probably this Half-Life 1 speedrun

Absolutely insane....

But hey Steve, any chance of a podcast anytime soon?

Lots of things have been going on, Crysis, Orange Box, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, BioShock, Fallout3... would be nice to hear your thoughts on some of this.

So, has anybody seen the latest South Park episode yet? :-)

Posted by Trooper 47 at November 10, 2007 5:43 AM

He is possibly (and im saying possibly) using the Cheat:
Easy Expert
and that cheat that you cant loose on the song. No-Loose or whatever it was named.. cant remember. because its never going down to red, that means that you never can loose, aka using the cheat. but im not saying he is cheating, again, its a possibility.:) Good work anyhow. Good night.

That's pretty lame. Who spends that much time playing such a stupid button mashing game. Reminds me of the South Park Episode. You reach the highest level and it says your a fag.

Do any of you know if he did it with 100% notes hit?

Posted by Ned at December 22, 2007 5:15 PM

it wasnt a 100% but it wasnt far from it, still the sickest thing ive seen, i would be happy just to get 1 out of 10 notes right.

He can't be using a cheat because he got the inhuman achievement. You can see it pop up on the screen. You can't get achievements if your using a cheat code.
