Gaming Steve Episode 60 - 03.07.2007
I'm Not Dead Yet!
Yes everyone, I am back and I figured that since I started doing the show at GDC 2005 it was appropriate to resume with the start of GDC 2007.
Today I recap the day's events and the pivotal Sony keynote and just like last year I am sharing the mic with a fellow blogger/podcaster Gamer Andy
from Gamer Andy
. Enjoy everyone!
Gaming Steve Episode 60 Program
- Game Developers Conference Day 1 Recap
- Andy and I talk about the excellent Sony keynote and the new Home system.
- Will a great keynote be enough to turn the press to Sony's favor?
- We discuss the incredible-looking LittleBigWorld game as well as SingStar Online.
- Why are publishers looking for a strong leader and why do they hate the Wii so much?
- And where does this all leave Microsoft and the Xbox 360?

I've even visited Gamer Andy, but not nearly as often as this place.
Bigger community here I think.
Anyways, good job, Steve.

*cancels funeral preparations*
very good to see you posting casts again, and "ile see you tommorrow-day 2 of GDC" that'd be today? looking forward to it :)
Im not sure what all the probs your having with vista are (or was that andy lol), im on vistax64 and only one of my games never worked, Need for speed carbon...after renaming the movies folder it was fine, more stable than xp ever was for me (and remarkably faster in O/S operations+dx10 will kill xbox360+ps3 as its beyond thier capability)
But yea, bring on the next one ;)
Welcome back, Steve! You won't believe how much I was smiling with joy as I watched your podcast come up in my iTunes download window.
You're back! I am very pleased. I hope you come back again soon.
I saw iTunes updating my Gaming Steve feed, I thought at first it was a glitch or something. :D Good to have you back!
Every day I hit Update on the Gaming Steve podcast in Itunes, and everyday nothing happens. When it started downloading this morning, I started freaking out. Gaming Steve is back!
Welcome back Steve, you've been missed.
Welcome Back! So many of your early predictions for the Wii, mostly about the target market, have come true.
welcome back and you keep good company.
Wow Steve good to see you back.
Yeah :D Just a couple of days ago I made the wish, and tadaaa Wishes can come true ;) I hoped you'd do some GDC episodes, just like Steve started the show. And those episodes were some of his best imo. I'm really looking forward to this one, downloading now.
Wonderful to have a new podcast... however I will miss my beloved Abyo horribly...
*Still in state of shock*
No, seriously - glad to hear a new podcast is out.
I looked at my iTunes update 3 times before I believed there was a new episode :P
Great to have you back Steve!
OMG! You are at the GDC! I have to find you! YAY!
My favorite podcast is back! Welcome back Steve!
It wasn't long ago that I had to re-prioritize my activities due the arrival of my second child. I know how challenging that can be!
I am glad your not dead. That is toally sweet. Nice cast, enjoyed it very much.
been listening since your first gdc shows 2 years ago was it? was thinking that wouldnt it be great if you came back to do gdc2007 at least, i really hope you go to see warren spectors talk at the convention,
Welcome back Steve, honestly...this is great. I'm going to listen to the show right now.
Welcome back Steve! I've missed your podcast! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you had new ones up. Glad your alive :D
wonderful! I thought I'd never see the day
Holy napalm in the eyes of the disbeliever. Welcome back Steve, isn't this exciting.
Fantastic podcast. It's nice to hear your voice again, Steve.
Very glad to see Steve back (and totally understand about the multiple children.)
However, what a dissapointing podcast thanks largely to the fanboy Gamer Andy. Steve's podcasts are usually about the industry and his ability to give us an insider's perspective along with 'intelligent game discussion.' Gamer Andy provides none of that - he's just a fanboy who might as well be writing for Joystiq or any one of a number of 'just gamer' blogs/podcasts. It's one thing for Steve to mention developers prefering the PS3 to the Wii because of increased horsepower, then Gamer Andy just disses on the Wii because it isn't hardcore. Steve mentions that developers did recognize how they can make games for the Wii cheaper, and Gamer Andy complains that it's only for people's girlfriends. When Steve mentions that important developer-oriented talks he went to go see Gamer Andy skipped them.
Constructive criticism - more Steve, less Alex.
This Andy guy sounds like an arrogant little bitch.
I agree with poop, Gamer Andy was a waste of an interview imo.
Really really great to see you back though!
GamingSteve!!! I've almost had an hart attack! I check your site every month-or-two, and today I've realised that you have released 4 podcasts!!!
THANK YOU STEVE!!! Greetings from sunny Serbia.
