March 17, 2006I'm Off to the Game Developers Conference
I was also one of the very first people in the world to report on Will Wright's new game Spore and the rest, as they say, is history. Of course I will be covering the entire event via this web site and my podcast, so make sure to check back throughout the week. And expect quite a bit more Spore coverage as there are no less than three talks on Spore this year, all of which I will be at front and center. As a nice bonus it appears that the Gaming Steve Forum may be represented at GDC by Will Wright himself. Will contacted one of the more active members of the Gaming Steve Forums and asked if he could "show a few of your create pics and the video you made in my talk at GDC this year?" He went on to explain "I want to talk a bit about how we're researching the fan expectations as we're designing the game." Very cool. And if that wasn't crazy enough yours truly has been invited to a continental breakfast with Peter Moore, Chris Satchell, and Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb himself. Oh yeah, GDC is going to be a total madhouse this year! Stay tuned for all the latest news and gossip! Comments
Don't buy anthing Peter Moore is selling. Not that he isn't any good. Just take it with a grain of salt. Posted by Nin of Tendo at March 18, 2006 01:06 AMYAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! I hope a video of the presentation gets up ASAP. Posted by Chris at March 18, 2006 08:54 PMHope you make sure you take your PSP and check out the "PSP Spot" (Sony booth #808 if the info is right) for us please. =P They had cool games like Loco Roco in Japan to try, but sadly they only saved onto the internal memory and were wiped when you shut the system down instead of letting you keep them on the memory stick. Posted by Mi at March 19, 2006 12:44 AMAs cool as I think it would be for your creature to come standard with every game Hydro, i just don't think it would really be your creature unless you evolved it yourself. Although if they followed everything you said they could hardly go wrong. Anyways who cares if it comes with the game, we all know you'll be churning out stuff that'll be on the network! oh yeah...huzzah for GDC!! Posted by Scipion at March 19, 2006 02:38 AMCan you duplicate yourself Gaming Steve? So that you can cover everything :) One of your copies needs to be a robot so it can secretly video the Spore presentation. Its not that much to ask ;) Posted by Rob (aquaman) at March 19, 2006 05:43 AMHave fun, Steve! I'm extremely jealous :-) Posted by Jomdom at March 19, 2006 11:05 AMHave a good time Steve !
