March 27, 2006Gaming Steve Episode 46 - 03.27.2006 So what happens when my laptop computer dies on me and I have to travel all weekend? You get my final GDC podcast today instead of Friday (sorry about that all). But the good news is that this is one of the craziest episodes of them all with not one, not two, but three co-hosts this episode! Crazy I tell ya!
Today I share the mic with Alon Waisman from ChatterBox, Wes Ehrlichman from The Gamer's Quarter, and Nathan Cox an aspiring game artist. Enjoy!

You have a child? I totally didn't know that. Posted by HunterW at March 28, 2006 01:45 AMTell us what EXACTLY what happened to your laptop (everybody's worst nightmare)! Were you able to repair it, save your data? Posted by otaku62 at March 28, 2006 05:51 AMCan anyone post Nathan Cox's website adress please? I did not get it. Btw I currently reside in France and I am taking Advanced Physics courses, and even tho I do not know anyone else who listen to this podcast here I have no doubts regarding this podcast's popularity in Europe :D Posted by Ragarnok at March 28, 2006 03:01 PMMore props to Steve for his solo podcast after listening to the other guys on this talking. They didn't deserve to be on the podcast which is meant to be for 'intelligent gaming discussion' Posted by swerv at March 29, 2006 05:35 AMYeah, another podcast! I saw you had it on your site but didn't get to listen to it untill today. About the digital downloads and xbox arcade, hearing about it made me instantly think of magic the gathering online. Thousands of people play this game, spending hundreds of dollars each to buy virtual cards. This idea is brilliant, people seem more than willing to pay money for nothing. Posted by Evil Lil Spore at March 29, 2006 07:16 PMI really enjoyed the last 3 podcasts with roundtables I hope you are able to do it fairly regular, or if you can do it again at e3 if possible, thanks for the great podcasts this week Posted by Jonathon Lowe at March 29, 2006 10:45 PMSomething about Alon rubs me the wrong way, used to lissen to their pod cast but it bugged me so I stoped. But it was a great cast - Makes me want to go to GDC next year. Posted by Big Wurm at March 30, 2006 09:20 AMSteve, great show. I discovered your show while waiting for Oblivion. Bethesda had a link to an interview you did, and since then I've listened to every cast. Keep up the good work, GDC sounds like an intresting affair. I wasn't a fan of Alon though from chatterbox. He came off sounding spoiled and VERY conceded, like he was 'Golden Boy' or something. It's ok though, I'm looking forward to next week's episode. That music you have cracks me up every time I hear it, I don't know if that music is supposed to be serious but if I need to laugh, I know where to turn. Keep it up! Posted by Olin at March 30, 2006 03:50 PMGuilds are illegal in most MMORPGS in china... oh my god , how ridiculous that you may think in this way.I am here in China. Social clubs are not banned... omg, your thoughts still linger in the 70's or something? Our regulation just state that big gatherings such as a parade must be registered and permitted by the government. If you wanna hold a party or club in some big house, no one cares about that. And you must understand that updating chat filters doesn't only include the polictical sensitive things, but also includes the inappropriate words such as personal attack. Polictical isn't the whole life of chinese people, on the contrary, they don't care about it at all. But the CCP do make some stupid decisions from time to time. Such as regulating the BBS in Chinese major universities, but most chinese people consider this kind of thing the price they have to pay for the country to grow. We still deem it necessary to maintain some kind of high morality among the social environment, in exchange, people WILL have to lose parts of their freedom. BTW I really like your podcast! Though sometime things about china isn't true :) god, why have I wrote so long???.... Posted by wormite at April 1, 2006 10:43 PMAnd to conclude with all I have said about the Chinese government: in china, If you are not among the mainstream, you are washed out. Right now gaming is definitely not among the main stream, though it's becoming more and more acceptable due to the big companies earning money on this and the big horde playing this. Posted by wormite at April 2, 2006 12:33 AMThe whole no clan thing certainly sounded a little unbelievable I didn't really enjoy these few multi-presenter podcasts, mainly because the other guys talked a lot of crap, certainly not the intelligent gaming talk Gaming Steve's listeners are used to imo. Posted by swerv at April 3, 2006 07:01 AMmust admit your podcasts are the only ones that make me just relax and listen since the vice city radio (VCPR - witch was briliant - i used to just turn it on close my eyes and listen for hours..) so tnx :) Posted by kostia at April 3, 2006 12:34 PMWow, where is Steve? 10 days later and no new post... Posted by Phazon77 at April 7, 2006 03:22 PMStill not even a bit of info on diablo 3 steve? i've been visiting this website daily with the promise of more information in the coming months oh well, e3 soon :) Posted by gratszik at April 7, 2006 08:51 PMsteve.... where are you!? Posted by Evil Lil Spore at April 8, 2006 07:22 PMSteve posted on the forums today just saying he hasnt been able to update the site due to travel. But he will be putting up new stuff soon enough (I am guessing a new podcast for Monday). Posted by CrazyCanuck at April 9, 2006 01:08 AM"You will not believe how crazy MMORPGs are in China (did you know that people actually pay money not to play games?)" ...and did you know that this isn't very much different from buying gold or buying characters, which happens in just about EVERY MMO there is known to man. Posted by Fraeon at April 9, 2006 06:56 AMummm 2 weeks no updates? NOTHING? is Gaming Steve Dead or something? Posted by Deep Lee at April 10, 2006 10:07 AMWow, I didn't think I sounded that unintelligent on the podcast. I may be posting to late as I have been busy looking for a job. Anyway, Ragarnok asked for my website so here it is. www.crimson-nova.com Later Posted by Nathan Cox at April 19, 2006 01:23 PMPost a comment
