Xbox Live Gamercard Generator

Gaming Steve GamercardLike everyone out there I love my Xbox Live Gamercard (yeah, okay, I know that need to play some 360 games that give me points!) but it's a huge freaking pain when you try to post your card as your signature file. People always seem to get the coding wrong and that big honking Gamercard box usually looks bad in the small signature file space. Wouldn't it be nice if you could convert your Gamercard into a variety of sizes and shapes. Well now you can! (You knew I was going to say that, didn't you?)

Head on over to the Xbox Live Gamercard Generator which not only has a great selection of graphic options to choose from, but it's super-simple to use as well! Just jump down to the generate your Gamecard section, type in your Gamertag, select the graphic style, and the site does the rest. You'll get your new card in URL, HTML code, and BB code ... all you need to is copy and paste and your card will be dynamically generated wherever you place it.

This site is so simple to use and the variety of signature files is so great that I wonder why Microsoft didn't implement something like this on the Xbox Live web site. Oh well, in the meantime start generating!

I believe Microsoft has a justifiable fear of user content being Adult Only rating. That's the reason you can't customize your gamer picture beyond choosing what's made available. This is really hurting the customization reputation of the Xbox360, because games that should have level creators and editors (like Marble Blast Ultra) don't because the levels could be in the shape of naughty bits. PGR3 limits your customization to pre-existing maps and is therefore "clean."

I hope this gamer card generator nudges Xbox Live in the right direction, because there are some brilliant designs there.

Speaking of which, doesn't Gaming Steve's gamer card provide a hint to this week's Name The Game Contest? ; )

Yeah but MS making this data available as XML would open the door to lots of cool stuff, for example graphing the gamerscore of clan members over time.

Oh yeah, http://www.mygamercard.net/ does this as well, and theirs are jpg instead of png.

Yeah, there are a couple out there that generate gamercards, but I think that this site has the best selection (and it's the easiest to use).

Actually, the cards are in PNG (which is the best format to use).. the 'JPG' part was implemented because I thought that's the extention most people were used to.. it's since become more of a confusion than a help. Thanks for mentioning us, though!

Also, Steve, I'd be interested to know how one site is 'easier' than any other, in which you simply put in your GamerTag to get your card and the code to use. I'd certainly like that feedback so I can fill in the blanks in anything that's lacking.
