January 01, 2006Will Wright Discussing Gaming as a Form of Time Travel
For those who have never heard a lecture by Will Wright before, it is a truly memorable experience. Listening to him talk for just a few minutes and you quickly realize that Will is really on a whole other level when it comes to designing games. Also make sure to view his presentation from last year's Game Developers Conference where he unveiled to the world his next game creation, Spore (which we at Gaming Steve are following quite closely). He's like, the EINSTEIN of game development. Love this guy's speeches. He really is a next-gen game designer in a current-gen world. And boy am I glad he is. Posted by TheShark at January 1, 2006 04:25 PMAwesome! Is there a link to the full lecture anywhere? It sounded great! Posted by PatMan33 at January 1, 2006 10:25 PMThat's pretty cool. I still hate The Sims though :P Posted by FTH at January 2, 2006 09:28 AMI found a link to the audio of the full lecture. http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/z/e/200512/120705_when_7_time_simulation.mp3 Posted by Borogove at January 2, 2006 04:18 PMWow, awesome find Borogove, where/how did you find that? Posted by Gaming Steve at January 2, 2006 05:51 PMThanks much man! Posted by PatMan33 at January 2, 2006 07:28 PMHmm, Will Spore be "dynamically tuned" to the players actualization of a particular point on the possibility space? That is, will Spore change the challenges and obstacles you face in response to how you play the game? Posted by Wahh at January 2, 2006 09:23 PMwow borogrove thanks for that, love listening to will wright speak, great find. I declare you king among men!
