They did not release any info regarding the new race to this magazine. So nope, more baseless guesstimating. I thought you had a bunch of friends at Blizz Steve? Just ask them already.

Well, Blizzard's expansion packs are mostly a singleplayer campaign and a handful of new units. But, I really don't expect this expansion pack to blow anyone's mind -- because it's almost the same kind of expansion -- without the singleplayer campaign even.

This was to be expected. I rejoined WoW based on the Pandaren myth, but once I did some research this seemed the most obvious outcome. Ogres would have been neater though.

Even EQ has socketed items, called Augments, so that's nothing new.

I like EQ1 better than WoW, but i agree about the fact on "Deserted zones". The problem with deserted zones in EQ is that SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) can't balance the game. When a new expansion is released, the're ditching and nerfing the previous expansion and therefore making it NOT attractive anymore for lots of peeps.

Blizzard on the other hand, has made good fame about balancing when you look at Diablo 2 for instance. ;)

Blizzard has a post denying they let any info out to ANY magazine, site, whatever. This could easily be faked, for one, why are there no pictures of Draenei?

im using a palm pilot for this so no dice on comments, i never read into the myth and lore involved but apparently there is an imbalance in favor of the alliance ? in which case to counter the awesomeness that is gnomes you need a pull for horde, ie bloodelves. elves suck but others like them so it works, so no matter what the alliance must be short changed to secure the pull factor, Dreinai arent exactly appealing so they do work in securing a pull to horde. I would say this may not be reliable but it is grounded on a justifiable cause. Pandaren are sadly out of the picture, no one straight would choose some elf over the option of a panda. Yes it would be satisfyingly sadistic to play pandas but you lose the pull if you do. To solve this problem, gnomes should get priests....because i say so and it too makes sense. give a healing class to the only race without to create balance. Blizzard tries to make balanced gaming in wow.... emphasis on tries...so don't be surprised if this is to be true.

The true reason why pandaren are out of the picture is that the killing of pandas is illegal in China the Chinese government would ban the game and blizzard thus loses tons of customers.

I was in China last week, killed a dozen pandas, and I had chop suey with Bruce Lee and a policeman. They didn't seem to mind.

I really hope it will be the pandaren race over the dranae, because it would be so cool that a panda beats a bull :p on the other hand dranae would be cool too if they wheren't so damn ugly. If blizzard makes them a wee bit smoother it'll be ok.

Man, Krazy Pandas with sharp katanas pawn the draenei completely. If the pandaren becomes a playable race, i will buy and play the expansion, if not, it is not worth my money, because, it sucks being a lvl 60 and having nothing else to do after getting the epics..... Oh great, the level cap will be increased to 70!!!! And then... when i reach 70 and get the new epics, there wont be anything else to do either! Ah, flying mounts! why spending tons of gold with them if they will be even slower than griphons! Hero classes and new talents, cool, but do you expect me to pvp and repeat instances 24/7? it gets awfuly boring too. This expansion brings very few inovations and the only thing that i put my faith on are the new playable races. The Blood Elves are ok, but the pandaren are cooler than any other race, in my opinion. So, while the world holds it's breath with expactation, i wait to see that brand new race.

All this talk about Draenei is silly, if anybody follows the Warcraft storyline, they would shoot that down in a heartbeat. If they were to ally with anybody, it would be Horde (But Horde already have the Blood Elves)...so get that thought out of your head. As for Naga's? Are you insane?? Naga's are night elves that worship the Naga queen and turned evil....right, like they are just gonna say sorry and make up. Murlocs would be cool, but would be annoying to hear them make their sounds all day long.

Did anybody ever think of Furbolgs? That's a viable option, the Timbermaw are already a race that you can get reputation with, why not add in a Furbolg clan that you can play. They currently have no allegiance with either side...which is the only thing slowing the idea down.

I agree completely, the warcraft lore totally makes the draenei (and naga) not a viable race for the expansion. And as much as I would like to see the pandaren or the murlocs as the new race it's not gonna happen, so I'm gonna have to go with furbolgs as the new race. The aren't as ugly as draeni, but not as cool as murlocs (and kinda the same as pandaren), but not as good.

Hi, guys this is Tharanios of the Malygos Realm, I thank you for scrolling down this far, i have read every single website i could find talking about the new races and i have decided that it will be the Draenei, this is because, Horde needs more players and Bloodevles are a cool race- making more ppl play horde for PVP reasons, but Draenei will b the new alliance race because they arnt exactly the most popular guys, but they are not all over the game attacking things like the Furbolg or the Murlocs, besides all the alliance races have human characteristics and the Draenei have many things in common with humans, all of the horde races are pretty different, having horns, tusks, large teath, and so on.. my second thing i think it could b is the Pandarian because the horde has an animal type race called Tauren, and Pandarian also have Human Characteristics and have always one previouse games WC1, WC2, and WC3 been alliance friendly and there are none of them in WOW as of now, it might not b Draenei because they are already in Swamp of Sorrows attacking all races that cross theyre paths, but the Bloodelve wer in a previouse game but not in WOW, so are the Pandarian, and there u have it, the new race will b Pandarian, they are human like, they are somewhat like Tauren and maby about the same size, they will fit on mounts, and i know they have paws that would look wierd with gloves, but the Tauren have hooves, and they look normal. if u want to dissagree with me, get on the Malygos server and tell me what u think….. Me want Draenai. They will make a good race for the alliance. I say Pandaren would be better for an Ocean Realted Expansion, where all the races find their empire, and pull them into the war... That would make a nice race to counter a Naga race for the Horde...

Plus, I want to see a Draenai's unmutated form...

blizzard did say that there are going to be major changes in raid encounter... theres also been rumours going on about "all 9 classes will be available for both faction" that would mean that bloodelves are able to roll as paladins and alliance rolling as shamans... (totems and blessing ftw <3)

I'm guessing it will be a different kind of orcs (since trolls have icetroll, forestroll, etc) but thats just my theory :D

ALL i got to say is now that the horde are getting a elf race....just means we have to deal with all the whinning kids also. It is the only reason i rolled horde before bcz so many kids wanted to be alliance"meaning a server bed time". but After rolling horde seems that is were all the mature adult players were"meaning no server bed time".......Comments?

P.S.-Maybe there is no alliance race!?!?!.....i mean i role horde but they"alliance" get nerfed so much, i wouldn't be surprised.

I heard from an information leak (although I dont believe it...much) that the new alliance race will be be Mok'nathill(sp?)

Months before word of the burning crusade had even been spoken, I was in Ashenvale and it was the very first time I ever saw the Furbolg. I had mentioned in general chat how cool they were and how they'd make a GREAT playable charactor. I said I wish I was a furbolg! I got a whisper from a person whom EVERYONE on at the time was claiming to be a GM, and he said to me. "some day you will be, but you never heard that from me!" and this confused me for a long, long time. Now I don't know how it works for the GM's and I thought a GM can't tell you they're even a GM in the first place...but I have a very good feeling about the new race being furbolgs. and maybe they'd even have panda skin as an option? ;)

Well, it was finally confirmed at E3 that the new race will be Draenei. This was confirmed this morning, and it is fast spreading.

Sure is. I don't really mind it being Draenei, I'm just dissapointed at how little there seemed to be to choose from. I'd rant about unrealistic Races, cough cough Murlocs, but there's no time for that now. It's on the WoW Main Page, and I'm sure it'll be in every gaming magazine before the end of the month, so there's no stopping it now. This was definitely good idea for Blizz, cause it will help even out the Horde/Alliance ratio. Think of it as shortening the BG wait-times...crazy PvP people...

Anyway, somewhat of a ponder, but BE's seeemed to be more of a Magical Race, in that their Racial abilities looked like they gave some über benefits to having Mana. Perhaps Draenei will be an über fighting Race?
