The Internet Is Unambiguous Evil!

The Internet Is Evil!As great as the Grand Theft Auto games are on their own, the "fake" web sites that Rockstar creates to support their games are nearly as much fun as the GTA games themselves, and the newly launched GTA: Liberty City Stories is no exception. And this time Rockstar might have outdone themselves by creating a very loose parody of your favoriate "anti-game activist" Jack Thompson within the site.

Once you enter the GTA:LCS web site there are several fictional e-mails on the top of the screen. One of them is from "JT@citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org" ... I wonder what that "JT" could possibly stand for? Anyhow if you click on the fake e-mail from "JT" (the Liberty City anti-violent video game crusader) you will find that "JT" likes to surf the Internet for pictures depicting deviant sex acts by teenage girls. Additionally, on the site you can listen to an audio ad recording featuring a man, whose name is "Jack", who is found naked by a mother in her son's room. Finally, you can view JT's anti-Internet web site http://www.citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org/ (do check it out because, you know, the Internet is evil!)

Luckly parody and satire are protected in the United States, so expect to see much more of this in the future "JT".

Now that is just stupid, i mean, i..in NO way agree with Jack Thompson, but why are the WHOLE gaming industry bullying this guy FOR SAYING HIS OPINION. what's the only thing he did...yes, in your eyes he's trying to ruin and get he fun out of the gaming industry, but have you ever wondered how hard is it to be on the other side? the guy just stated his opinion and people are making fun of him all over the net.

If this was just his "opinion" it would be one thing. But this man makes a living trying to put video game companies out of business and to make money on other people's sadness and misery. He does not do this out of the goodness of his heart, he sues these companies on a regular basis to make money. There is a big difference here.

Thank you, Steve! But the real question is: Does this give JT...er...Jack Thompson more legitimacy? (Not that he has any to begin with.)

No matter. Thompson deserves the ridicule. Besides, he's a public figure. It comes with the territory. It's not like he's Mother Teresa.

I am fed up with these hypocrites who "treat" a terminally ill patient (our society) by clipping his toenails (censoring "evil" videogames) and making grand speeches about it. If I was Rockstar I would react in the exact same way. No one claims that films with gangstas and the Mafia are evil or cause crimes because movies are accepted as mature while games are supposed to be addressed to children. I really like GTA because I like (meaningful) games that give me the chance to be something other than what I am in real life. Including a criminal or a hero. And I don't have to account for this to anyone.
