World of Warcraft: The Board Game Details Emerge
Later this year Fantasy Flight Games is releasing World of Warcraft: The Board Game and they just launched a new section in their site with details on the game (make sure to check out the rules!).
From what I have been reading about this game on other board game web sites it sounds pretty amazing. Fantasy Flight is no stranger into converting computer games into board games they came out with the very successful Doom board game last year. And from what I've been reading & hearing so far it appears that Fantasy Flight might have actually done the near impossible -- successfully translate one of the world's most popular MMORPG's into a board game while keeping all the essential gaming elements intact.
Let's see what's in the game ... all the races? Check. All the classes and their assorted special talents? Check. The ability to go on quests which are different for the Horde and the Alliance? Check. The ability to perform raid-style quests? Check. The chance to kill boss monsters? Check. The ability to level-up your character and gain skills? Check. The ability to ... well, you get the point. Pretty much everything which makes WOW so unique is in this game, and I can't wait!
The only downside I have heard about this game so far (besides the $79.99 price tag, ouch!) is that it takes several hours to play a single game. Somewhere from 4-6 hours for a single game, depending upon the number of players. Hum, I guess they really did get everything from WOW into the board game!

Lots of pieces? Awesome
Hours to play? Rock on
Family fights of the nerdiest kind? Thank you, Fantasy Flight
Well... as long as it gets people off of that soul consuming game...
LOL! 2 right. People seem to think WoW is more important than their real life!
Coming Soon: 'World of Warcraft' Lunch Boxes, Cereal, Toilet Paper...
Lets see pay 50 plus 15 a month to play the actual game or pay 80 to play a mock up of same said game...
So you don't have to leave the computer!
Now you can even play WoW without a computer! Hooray!
I think the company also made WC3 Doom3 and Age of Mythology boardgames.
Finaly, something to do when the WoW servers crash again...and i dont have to pay per month
Have anyone found a decent REVIEW from someone who actually played the game? I find nothing!
Warcraft is one of the best PC games ever developed. I'll be expecting more to the World of Warcraft.
Hello people I have actully played the game!!!! And as far as i can tell I have posted the first review. So.... here we gooooooo
Anyway the box come with plenty of figures green, blue, red ones based on diffeculty and the blue one's are independent witch is self explanitory the game has houndreds of little card board punch out's along with the figures are very well made. The figure's are very well sculpted much like doom the board game(also comes recomended) You travel around the land completing quest's with your team. There are two teames basicly horde and alliance. You collect iteams level up and you can even PVP. YOu win the game by defeating the over lord there are three you can choose from i'll give you one Kel'Thuzad. The game is no longer then 30 turns witch can actully go on for a while. I highly recomend this game. 5out of 5. Hope that helps
