I still thing it's crazy that parents are even buying the game for their children in the first place.
Parents saying, "Why is the Mature rated game that I bought for my 12 year old so bad?" Thats what makes me mad! Putting blame on a company, because you didn't look at the rating is so stupid. Would any of these parents take their kids to see Freedy vs Jason and then sue the studio for the "bad" movie.

BUT I am worried about that game.
I do not know a lot about it, but I had a very hard time at school and do certainly NOT want to play a game like this.
(except your fighting the bad guys, but it's Rockstar game, so...)
The problem is, from what I know this is going to be the T-rated GTA. The problem I always had with GTA-style games is not that they are violent, but the way murder and crime is portrayed.
It's not cool to do a drive-by-shooting. Not at all!
So it's rated M (or AO or whatever, but above 16) and imo that is ok, a Teen of that age knows that it's just a game.
But Bully is intended for a T-rating.

Of course you're probably not murdering someone, but showing that bullying is cool, or looks cool or just showing it in a positive way (or at least appealing way), showing that to a young teenager.....that's difficult.

As I said, I have a personal problem with the game.
But o nthe other hand I'm also concerned, that younger teens could look at the game and not realise, that it doesn't work like this in reality. I met way to many children/teens that thought bullying a weaker kid was cool and fun.
And after playing the game, even more people will think like that.
This just isn't right. GTA has a certain irony to it. Bully will have that too, probalby I hope. It'll even be a good game, probably.
BUT it is not FUN or COOL.

I don't wanna spoil the game or anything and I think that they should be allowed to develop whatever game they like, but a game like Bully should not be rated T. This is not a game for kids.

Although I must agree Rocksatr can be a little.....over-the-top. GTA wasn't too bad (aside from hot coffee) but Manhunt I thought was sick and Bully looks a little twisted. I think Rockstar should play it a bit more safely.

It's people like Jack So Wack Thompson that make me glad Rockstar makes obnoxious games. He's a lot worse that a game that glorifies school bullying. (Or at least seems to glorify bullying.)

My thoughts...

Not to release Bully under any circumstances.
-Keep it tethered to the license. Anybody using it for anything other than entertainment purposes is subject to legal action by Take Two for Liable.

Volunteer to sell its violent and sexually explicit games in adult video stores only.
-Good idea. Nothing better than to promote porn shops and strip clubs. I think that you should also allow it to be sold in gun and liquer stores, maybe sell it at the city jails with 5% of the proceeds going to prisoner eduction (ie cable TV)

Let parents return Grand Theft Auto for a full refund until they do a national awareness campaign to educate parents of content and possible effects.
-Then prosecute the same parents for providing contraband materials to minors.

Create a fund for victims of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and car-jackings, etc.
-Part of the fund is to be used to purchase game systems to teach people the dangers of driving with their cars unlocked, leaving their kids unattended while fueling a running car, and leaving the keys in your vehicle.

Now seriously, I've dealt with zealots before, and I'd just contact them and talk with them, if their point makes sense, join them. Otherwise, convince them their point makes no sense.

On the Bully hand, I just say that it may actually help the situation. I mean, Bullying is mainly venting rage or something, and games can help vent rage, I know. Or it may just be part of the whole "Bully Package" which may indicate that the person is already a Tauren. Can't make it worse.

Pfft, pop culture (I appologize for my bad spelling) if you look back you can see that the same things happen with every thing. FOr an example lets look at Rock Elvis swivelled his hips and people we're outraged...why? I don't know but the point is that they were. I'm sure others can come up with many other examples then mine but I am only 15 and thus can't accuretly say any others. If games follow the pattern then they will probubly get "worse" eather these people learn to deal or they can get humilated in fedral court. but i agree with one of the above comments about Rockstar though, they do take it a bit far at times, i mean Manhunt made me physically sick. it was banned in New Zealand (where i lived at the time of its release) and was put on the same level of customs alert as illicit drugs.

Any body who complains about games has issues, If games arnt ur taste go bugger off and talk about string for hours on end, I dont care... but to accuse games of doing YOU or YOUR Friends/ Family in-justice then you either havnt asked staff in store whats the game like or gone out and looked for info on the game which is everywhere. Laws suites against Game Companies are like the law suites against certain fast food industries, THEY ARE ALL A JOKE!
