Spore Demo Video Posted

Spore World Okay all, it seems that the GDCTV web site has finally posted the video which shows the Spore demo. This is the exact same demo which was shown at E3 this year. Registration is free to the site so you can check it out.

This is actually good as my chat with Will Wright at E3 will make at lot more sense now since we talk about how the editors and game mechanics work (we go way past the demo shown). So here is the schedule:

Part One: Watch the Spore demo video, have mind blown.

Part Two: Listen to my interview with Will Wright (to be posted later today) and have mind blown again...

Great, great video. I'am a german reader of your Internet Magazine Steve and i'am absolutely amazed from what i've seen in the video of the gdc !!! Thanks for posting this to us.

But I've got one question. Iam really awaiting your next PODCAST about the Interview with Will Wright. But unfortunately, i didnt find the Link. Did you post this interview already and i cant find the link ? Or ist there no link at the moment? When will your next podcast be online ?

It seems like the game with the greatest scope could concievably be distributed on just a couple of 3.5 inch disks :)

WHOA! i cannot wait! i also LOVE that we will get all of this online content FREE! that is where the sims online failed, who is gonna pay $10/month to play a crappier version of sims online when you have the regular game already?

Yeah me too, I love creating my own content and 9/10 of my games have editors of some sort in them for that reason. I allready know what I want my creature to look like!

I think the video only is at that site. Gamespot dont have it, filefront dont have it, fileplanet dont have it. no site have it for download. i hate that becouse i have a quite slow internet and want to download it.

This game looks un-freaking-believable!!! I've watched the video at least 8 times and I still can't get enough! I've been following the game since it was first mentioned and I want it right now! If I had a time machine, I'd go to the release date, pick up a copy, bring it back, and start losing days of sleep playing it!!! Will is the MAN!!!!!

Amazing!

Id heard of Spore from Bethesda forums as i was soothing my urge to get my hands on Oblivion. Just the small mention of evolving a creature with extreme customization struck my interest and i dug up any information I could.

Then i found this video and got to watch the Fabled developer slideshow and presentation made by Wright. Amazing, simply amazing! Its just a real shame that the game wont be released until Fall of 2006. A long ways away, i hope they cut the development date short seeing as the game seemed to be stable and intact for a runnable demo at so early a time.

Thank you however, i appreciated this movie!

I learned of this game via Ign.coms most anticipated games of 2006. I watched the video, it is awesome! I always wanted to create a lifeform, watch it grow, see life around me, see other civilizations growing around me, trade, fight with them, and this game even lets you go to other planets! This is amazing! This will be one of the very few CREATIVE games! I'm tired of repetive games repeating a prior games concept over and over. This is definitely a game to look forward to. :)

That was an amazing video. If you made a demo for the game them it would sell better than most normal games. I cant wait for it to come out.

i think this game will consume the minds of the general public.
believe me people will lose jobs over this game because of the sheer open endedness of this. i think ill probably not use internet for the next billion years until spore 2 comes out. if it NEEDs a sequel.

there will be no demo, and it will not be released in october, but its posible it will it looks like in all will wrights new! demos that it is ready. they might just have to be building stock and writing a manuel and working out glitches so i can see it comming out in october. but i've read many interviews of will wright and him saying it is comming out in april or june but its possible to fit it earlyer the reason there will be no demo because he is working really hard to release it i to love spore and am going to reserv a copy cause when the release it it will be out for months!

I hope this game will come out on playstation 3 since im getting it when it comes out. whatever the system requirements are, my system wont be able to handle it so ps3 is da way to go.

OMFGZ! This game looks great!! Hours upon hours of gameplay... Just going round sucking up creatures with my spaceship and dropping them into space O.O It would ROCK ASS.

And you seriously think its going to come out on PS3? Lol.. The only console that could handle it is XBOX 360, but I doubt it will be on anything but PC. I'm not bothered - I'm prepared to update my PC if I need to, teh game is just TOO GOOD.

I swear down, I will not die untill I have exhausted Spore =)

Yes Brian that sums up my initial views as well until I watched the video :). I know will is a coding genius but I will be honest I hate pretty much everything about the sims .......but spore looks superb. I really am hoping for a january release though since they are cutting stuff out .......but I doubt that will happen. I wouldnt mind so much the speculative march release if they were going to immplement everything people wanted such as see living creatures etc. I guess we all have a long pain staking wait ahead of us )
