April 5, 2005Metroid Prime: Hunters Fully Online Spong is reporting that the Nintendo DS game Metroid Prime: Hunters will feature full online functionality. According to their source, Hunters will be a fully-optimized real-time FPS along the lines of Halo 2 with deathmatch play, online leagues and so on. The game and online functionality will be shown at E3 and will with the US in mid-summer.
Wow, I guess Nintendo is finally getting into the online play arena, even if it's a little late it's good to see. Comments
Hey maybe by the time this is released the DS will have enough decent games to be worth buying :-) Posted by Ryan Brown at April 5, 2005 4:22 PMGlad to hear it. I love the demo that came with my DS. Played the heck out of it. I'd love to be able to play it online against my net friends from all over the world! Posted by Crowster at April 5, 2005 4:25 PMBeing a huge fan of Nintendo games, I hate to say this, but it seems like they're running out of ideas. I remember hearing the former President of nintendo saying something like they're the innovators in the videogame market, but now it just seems like they're trying to ge ta piece of the online pie. Not to mention the multiplayer on that game from what I've played wasn't very fun. Maybe Halo 2 is just so far ahead of the pack that my expectations are unreasonable. I think Nintendo should stick to what their fans want, and that's Nintendo games. Sorry, my thoughts are all over the place. Posted by franchise at April 6, 2005 10:33 AMYou know, I'm NOT happy about this. Metroid Prime is essentially a single person game. And it's not a typical FPS, either. It seems like Hunters is shaping out to be more of your regular FPS. You know, the kind of thing people were worried that would happen with Metroid Prime?
