March 17, 2005Gaming Steve Episode 4 - 03.17.2005
In this show I personally thank everyone who has come to the site and given me their support and great comments. In the News segment I talk about the PSP and its big launch next week. In Gametalk I answer about a dozen different questions I got over the week about Spore. So once again I talk about Spore in extreme detail and try to answer all the various questions I got over the week. Next, I introduce the "Name That Game!" weekly contest where I play three different tunes for you to try and identify. Be the first one to tell me what they are and win a $20 gift certificate to Amazon! In Reviews I take on Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube. Sure it's a great game, but just how great is it? And what makes this Resident Evil so different from those in the past? And finally I talk a bit about the upcoming Jade Empire for the Xbox and give you some inside dirt about the game. Also make sure to check out the new Spore Forum. Get the podcast from this page: Gaming Steve Episode 4. Enter the "Name That Game!" contest on this board. You can also subscribe to the weekly podcast. Comments
Very nice Podcast =D Your the man Steve! Look forward to your next Fabulous podcast. Nice to get a personal insider without having to be there. Posted by Jack at March 18, 2005 12:04 AMYou say to know a lot about games, even the old ones. Well I do not know about US magazines but our local game magazines have retro-reviews. I'd certainly love to hear what you as game designer think of some games what some (still) consider as a classic or perhaps had something innovative. Either how you remember them or how you think it works still today or not. So for starters if you want to consider some retro reviewing, here are my suggestions of what I'd love to hear what you think about.. I'll give a few just incase you have not played some of them. PC: Amiga: Heh, ac. For what it is worth I have played ... and finished all the games you have listed. I do plan to cover "retro" gaming a bit if there is a demand for that sort of thing. "Out of this World" was a great game with fantastic graphics for the time (played on my Mac) and Loom was a wonderful game. I loved the music and the artwork was beautiful. Hum, I might even have the box somewhere around here still... I used to play all the LucasArts games back then, the good old days... Posted by Gaming Steve at March 18, 2005 02:30 AMAh the hours I used to spend playing Another World when I was little... And it's ANOTHER WORLD! I mean, what type of stupid name is Out of this World?! Such a classic needs a great name... I also am a massive fan of LucasArts adventure games, I still play them often. It's hard to beat Monkey 2 and DoTT... I hate you LucasArts for what you did to Sam and Max.... Oh, the Podcast? I'm downloading it now.. O_o Posted by Ferret at March 18, 2005 07:29 AMBut have you heard of Stars! ? I've actually played the original a bit and even had a look at the yet to be ever released sequel. http://www.starbasedelta.com/ A relative of mine has some contacts to the company, having beta tested this sequel to the original Stars! game. So if you are interested in p$l$a$y$i$n$g that one, I guess they are still looking for the financer - atleast their site claims so. I have to mention though, even while my relative was impressed by the battle graphics back THEN - I can see why no one but hardcore Stars! and perhaps MOO guys were interested, the battle gfx just plain stinked. Guess it was still gorgeus compared to the original Stars! As if that would have made a difference. Though after the Master of Orion 3 I wonder if there are still players for this type and _look_. Perhaps with new mind blowing looks.. Have I heard of Stars? Heh, how about this one... Not only have I heard of Stars, but I have six bottles of "Stars SuperNova" beer sitting on the shelf right next to me! I got them at E3 a few years ago when they were showing off that game at that time and they were looking for financing. Hey ac, come over the forums where you can play "Try and Stump Steve" a bit more! Posted by Gaming Steve at March 19, 2005 12:49 PM |
